BLACKSBURG, VA. –Sophomore Rachel Travitz (Roanoke, Va.) recorded her personal best at the 2008 Hokie Open in Blacksburg this afternoon. The Hokie Open is a good chance for Radford's young runners to gain valuable experience before the season ends. The Highlanders sent two freshmen and a sophomore to compete in this race.

Travitz 's time of 18:43 crushed her old personal best by almost two minutes. Her previous personal best was 20:39 at last year Big South Preview meet. 


The Highlanders will be back in action on November 15 when they compete at the NCAA Southeast regional at Winston-Salem, N.C.
