BLACKSBURG, Va. – Senior
Lori Crotts (New Castle, Va./Craig County) and freshman
Hannah Scheren (Lovettsville, Va./Loudon Valley) placed second at the Virginia Tech Cross Country Relays Friday afternoon.
The Radford women's cross country team posted a team score of 39 points, which was good for fourth place overall.
The Highlander duo teamed up to clock in at 37:49.80 as each of them ran a pair of 2.5K legs. Crotts' two legs of 8:53.20 and 9:09.80 were the fastest by any competitor at the meet. Crotts and Schrehen crossed the finish line four seconds ahead of Jen Klugh and Katie Albright from Liberty.
Tara Connor (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) and
Brittany Christian (Cary, N.C./Green Hope) finished 16th overall with a time of 40:40.30. Connor ran the first leg of the meet in 9:35.50, which made her time the eighth fastest posted by any competitor.
Radford will return to action on September 19 at the Big South Preview.
