GORWITZ FINISHES 57TH AT BLUE RIDGE OPEN

MEN'S RESULTS

BOONE, N.C.
- Freshman Brian Gorwitz finished 57th among collegiate competitors to lead Radford men's cross country at the Blue Ridge Open Friday afternoon.

The event was hosted by Appalachian State and consisted of 18 teams and 157 total runners.

For a fourth time this season, Gorwitz led all Radford competitors and crossed the finish line of the 8K with a time of 26.27.70.  Gorwitz's time became another personal-best and is the fastest time for a Radford runner this season.

Graham Schlickenmeyer and Sam Keltner followed behind Gorwitz, recording 27:13.80 and 27:58.60 finishes, respectively.

The final meet on the 2010 cross country slate comes on October 30, when the Highlanders host the Big South Championships at the Blacksburg Middle School Course.  It will mark the first time Radford has hosted the event since 1998.
