LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four Highlanders, led by freshman
Brian Gorwitz, competed in the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional meet this past weekend at the E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park. The Regional concluded the 2010 campaign for the men's cross country team.
Gorwitz finished his first-ever 10K in 34:01.5, placing 149th among 231 runners.
Classmate
Thomas Keefe crossed the finish line just behind Gorwitz, with a time of 34:41.1.
Sophomore
Sam Keltner, who finished four positions behind Keefe, and junior
Nathan Turner rounded out the Highlander competitors with showings of 34:42.8 and 36:33.6, respectively.
“This meet was a learning experience for our young guys. It gave us a good assessment of what we need to do for next year to compete at this level,” said head coach
Sean Bossman. “I was extremely happy with their performance and showed us what we need to work on this summer.”
