SWIMMING & DIVING DEFEATS LIBERTY AT FGCU MEET, 181-111

FINAL RESULTS

FORT MYERS, Fla.
– Highlighted by Dixie Mitchell's, season-best performances in the 50 (25.83) and 100-yard (56.72) freestyles, Radford defeated Liberty, 181-111, in CCSA action at the Florida Gulf Coast quad-meet Saturday in the FGCU Aquatic Center.

"This is the time of the season when we are enduring our heaviest workload," commented head coach #Randy Jarman. "To have these girls swimming this fast is extremely encouraging."

In addition to her top times of the season, Mitchell touched the wall ninth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.21.

Sophomore Colleen Miller also recorded Top-10 showings in the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.77) and 100-yard backstroke (1:04.91) placing sixth and eighth, respectively.

Freshman Jessica Frazelle touched the wall a second before Miller in the 100-yard backstroke to come in seventh.

Radford dropped decisions to conference-foes Florida Gulf Coast (50-250) and Georgia Southern (80-220).

The host Eagles defeated all three visiting teams.

Radford will return to the water on Jan. 22 in a dual meet against CCSA foes Campbell and Davidson in Charlotte, N.C., at 1 p.m.
