WOMEN'S RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Radford cross country teams combined for eight PR's and
Thomas Keefe (Fairfax Station, Va./South County Secondary) and
Caroline Ratterree (Falcon, Colo./Northeastern JUCO) led the way for a solid showing at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday afternoon at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.
For the second consecutive meet, Keefe led the Highlander field and posted the fastest time of the year with his 73rd-place performance in a group of 285 runners. He lowered his PR once again, this time by 11 seconds to finish at 26:16.97.
“Overall it was a good weekend for us,” commented head coach
Sean Bossman. “We had plenty of fast times and PR's in a great field. We are right on track on where we want to be heading into conference in a month. “
Sophomore
Brian Gorwitz (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) kept pace with Keefe and finished 83rd overall with a time of 26:22.17, also a personal-best.
Following the trend of setting new PR's was freshman
Ryan Farnan (Winchester, Va./Millbrook), who crossed the finish line in 26:37.98, good for 114th place. In addition,
Sam Keltner (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) and
Chris Weeks (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley), who finished in 125th and 127th, also set career times of 26:40.94 and 26:41.77, respectively.
On the women's side, Ratterree capped the 5k with a personal-best 19:19.67 to finish 67th of 257 runners. Freshman
Teresa Williamson (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) crossed the line in 19:32.35.
Hannah Scheren (Lovettsville, Va./Loudon Valley) posted a 20:05.45 and teammate
Emily Marshall (Prince George, Va./Prince George) recorded a 20:07.07, the eighth and final personal-best in the meet for the Highlanders.
