LYNCHBURG, Va. – Jessica Frazelle (Lexington, N.C./West Davidson) won the 200 back and freshman
Fallon Parker (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) recorded two of Radford Swimming and Diving's five personal bests, but the Highlanders fell at Liberty, 172-116, Friday evening from the LaHaye Aquatics Center.
Frazelle posted a time of 2:09.68 and also placed second in the 100 back (1:00.29). Parker recorded her personal bests in the 200 back (2:19.67) and the 200 free (2:05.10).
Joining Parker with personal bests were seniors
Madison Mantiply (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) and
Julia Hoffman (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) and sophomore
Emily Normandy (Purcellville, Va./Robinson Secondary).
Mantiply and Normandy touched the wall with times of 26:06 and 26.77 in the 50 free, while Hoffman pushed her way to a 2:37.15 in the 200 breaststroke.
Also picking up seconds were
Cecilia de la Garza (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg), sophomore
Rebecca Moyer (Virginia Beach, Va./Salem) and freshman
Claire Doherty (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) as they registered their finishes in the 100 breast (1:13.26), 1000 free (11:41.67) and 200 butterfly (2:15.87), respectively.
Radford will be off until it hosts the nine-team Highlanders Invitational set to take place at the Dedmon Center Natatorium from Nov. 17-19.
