WOMEN'S RESULTS

CONWAY, S.C. – For the second straight year, Radford junior Hannah Scheren (Lovettsville, Va./Loudoun Valley) was named to the all-academic team and sophomore Brian Gorwitz (Yorktown, Va./Grafton) recorded a 20th-place performance to highlight Big South Championship cross country action on Saturday.
 
In the classroom, Scheren carries a 3.6 GPA in business and on the trail today she finished with a time of 20:06.  Leading the men's team, Gorwitz shattered his personal-best time by 46 seconds to finish up at 25:36.
 
Overall, the Highlanders set six new personal-best times. The men finished sixth in the team standings and averaged 26:15 while the women averaged 20:13 collectively and garnered 10th overall.
 
Liberty took the team crown on the men's side while High Point (33) won the title for the women.
 
A pack of four Radford runners wrapped up the meet within five positions of each other.  Freshman Ryan Farnan (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) recorded a PR of 26:13 to finish 38th overall while Thomas Keefe (Fairfax Station, Va./South County Secondary) raced to a 26:19 time (39th).  Chris Weeks (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley) finished 41st with a PR of 26:28 and Sam Keltner (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) clocked a personal-best 26:36 (42nd). 
 
In front for the Radford women was senior Caroline Ratterree (Falcon, Colo./Northeastern JUCO) who posted a personal-best 19:08 performance and finished 34th overall.  Ratterree's time was the second fastest of the season for the Highlanders. 
 
Emily Marshall (Prince George, Va./Prince George) ran the best race of her collegiate career, crossing the finish line in 20:05 and earning 57th.
 
The last meet of the year will come at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Nov. 12 in Louisville, Ky.
