BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Radford men and women's 4x400-meter relay strong finishes and a high jump victory by
Nikki Roseberry highlighted the finale of the VT Challenge Saturday afternoon at Rector Field House.
The top performance of the day belonged to Roseberry, who took home first place with a 1.65m/05.50 height in the high jump.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the group of
Alyssa Barrow,
Britney Whittaker,
Michelle Speede and
Diane Wesh placed sixth with a time of 3:53.32.
The men's 4x400 and distance medley relay teams both entered the Radford all-time top-10, securing eighth in each event.
Brett Olinger,
Sean Shelton,
Phillip Hovatter and
Kaise White recorded a 3:19.17 to finish sixth in the 4x400, while the foursome of
Chris Weeks,
Eric Graves,
David Green and
Thomas Keefe crossed the finish line in 10:33.16, good for fifth place overall and won their heat in the process.
Highlighting the field events was
Justin Smith, whose 16.07m/52-08.75 distance in the shot put allowed him to take third place. Sophomore
Antonio Miller leaped 14.05m/46-01.25 to take home seventh place.
The Highlanders will travel to Clemson, S.C. next weekend, Feb. 24-25, to compete in the Big South Championships.
