RUTV: OLINGER WINS HURDLES & RELAY TITLES ON LAST DAY OF BIG SOUTH



FINAL RESULTS

LEXINGTON, Va. – Junior Brett Olinger won the 400m hurdles and was a part of the 4x400m relay team that took top honors to highlight the last day of the Big South Championships on Saturday.

Olinger once again eclipsed his old school record (52.72) with a faster 52.33, which made him the league's top 400m hurdles athlete. He was also the lead of the men's 4x400m conference championship team along with Sean Shelton, Raschad Kelso, and Kaise White who combined for a time of 3:16.02.

In total, Radford tallied three individual champions, nine all-conference performers and set two new school records.  As a team, the Highlander men finished fifth with 83 points while the women's wrapped up the three-day event in seventh with 47.5 points.

Kelso earned the runner-up position in the 200m with a new school-record time of 21.26. White also finished second in the 400m with a time of 47.82.

In the women's 800m, Britney Whittaker took her place on the podium by way of a 2:13.51 to take second-place honors.  

The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of Olinger, White, Kelso and Bryan Wallace took runner-up honors with their time of 41.55, behind Charleston Southern who set a facility record with a 40.30.

Freshman Courtni Pannell grabbed her first outdoor all-conference honor, placing third in the 100m hurdles (14.31).

Women's 4x100m
The foursome of Lakei Crews, Amber Church, Pannell and Kaleice Green placed fifth in the 4x100m with a season-best time of 48.24.

Women's 400m
Diane Wesh finished just outside all-conference range in fourth, crossing the line in 57.31.

Men's 1500m
Thomas Keefe ran to a seventh-place performance with a finals time of 4:04.35, four spots ahead of his qualifying finish.

Men's 110m hurdles
Chris Dobbins finished fourth with a 14.49, the third best time in school history.

Women's Triple Jump
Freshman Amber Church glided to a sixth-place finish with a mark of 11.29m/37'0.50”.
