FINAL RESULTS
RADFORD, Va. – Senior
Nikki Roseberry tied her own high jump school record and set the new Cupp Stadium Track record in the conclusion of the Radford Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Roseberry cleared the bar in first-place at 1.75m/5'8.75” to set the new facility record. She tied her school-record mark set at the Coastal Carolina Invitational in the very first outdoor meet of the year and was her third victory of the spring.
Fans witnessed history as 49-year-old javelin thrower Ronald Bradstock set the world record for his age group at 70.30m/230'7” shattering RU's facility record in the process.
Sophomore
Kaise White tallied the first sub-22.00 time of his career in the 200m with a 21.92, finishing fifth. He also won his second 400m event of the season with a personal-best time of 47.58 while teammate
Sean Shelton grabbed second with his PR of 49.46.
Brett Olinger won the 400m hurdles for the fourth time this outdoor season with his time of 52.37, just 0.04 off his school record pace.
Senior
Raschad Kelso raced to a PR in the 100m (10.86) to finish fifth. He later placed second in the 200m, flying down the lanes in 21.37.
Chris Dobbins took home the 110m hurdles title, racing to a 14.62 finish, and
Bryan Wallace finished just behind him in second with a time of 15.01.
Junior
Justin Smith won the men's shot put with the third-best mark (16.16m/53'0.25”) in program history. It was also his first 16m+ distance of the year.
A day after sophomore
Phillip Hovatter recorded a lifetime PR in the long jump, he leaped to a second-place showing in the triple jump, recording a mark of 13.48m/44'2.75”.
Tony Brown finished right behind Hovatter with a 13.22m/43'4.25”
On the women's side in the 100, Lakei Crews recorded her second victory, clocking in a time of 12.49. A season-best time of 25.18 allowed
Diane Wesh to claim the 200m crown.
Freshmen
Amber Church and
Courtni Pannell finished back-to-back in second and third, respectively in the 100m hurdles. Church finished in 14.09 while Pannell clocked a 14.40.
In the 800m,
Britney Whittaker placed fourth with her time of 2:15.20, her second-best performance of the outdoor season.
Crews, Church, Pannell and
Kaleice Green took second in the 4x100m at 48.91.
Radford is slated to send athletes to the Liberty Twilight on Thursday, May 5.
