FRAZELLE WINS 100 BACK; HIGHLANDERS TOPPED IN TRI-MEET

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –  Jessica Frazelle (Lexington, N.C./West Davidson) won the 100 back, both Highlander relay squads and Skye Hickling (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) posted third-place finishes as Radford Swimming and Diving competed in a tri-meet Saturday afternoon against host North Florida and College of Charleston.

Frazelle earned her second victory in the 100 (1:00.43) and third overall this season. The sophomore touched the wall just .17 seconds ahead of her competitor Ellice Mae Sanchez of North Florida.

Frazelle also led off both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays, which finished with times of 1:56.78 and 1:44.47, respectively.

Hickling turned in her third-place performance on the 3-meter board with a score of 196.20. Senior Katie Shaffer (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) and junior Colleen Miller (Kent Island, Md./ Archbishop Spalding) turned in fourth-place showings in the 1-meter board (208.87) and 100 back (1:02.84), respectively.

The host Ospreys picked up a pair of wins defeating Radford, 171-69 and College of Charleston, 135-107. The Cougars upended the Highlanders, 172.50-64.50.

Radford continues its annual trip to Florida with a dual meet on Tuesday, Jan. 10 against conference foe Florida Gulf Coast at 3:00
