SWIMMING & DIVING HOSTS UNC ASHEVILLE ON SATURDAY

Coming off a season-opening victory, Radford swimming and diving is set to host Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) newcomer UNC Asheville in a Saturday morning dual from the Dedmon Center Natatorium. The Highlanders and the Bulldogs take to the pool at 11:00 a.m.

A LOOK AT RU: The Highlanders made first-year head coach Ian Coffey's debut a success with a 122-71 victory at CCSA foe North Carolina A&T last Friday…. Radford won eight events… Senior Emily Turner (200 IM/100 Free) and freshman Sarah Fredericksen (500/1000 Free) won two each… Fredericksen set a new program record in the 1000 (10:59.59)… Rookie Mary Flinn (200 Free), sophomore Haley Schweitzer (100 Breast) and junior Jessica Frazelle (100 Back) posted individual triumphs, while the 200 free capped off the meet with the eighth and final win.
 
A LOOK AT UNCA: The Bulldogs are swimming in their first season of NCAA competition under head coach Elizabeth Lykens… UNCA finished 9th out of 13 teams in its first-ever meet, the North Carolina Collegiate Kick-Off Classic, two weeks ago… The Bulldogs will compete on Friday at VMI against the Keydets and Gardner-Webb.

UP NEXT: Radford hits the road on Oct. 27 for a tri-meet at Campbell against the Camels and Brenau University.

NOTE: Diving will be an exhibition after the swimming events.
