SWIMMING & DIVING WINS FOUR EVENTS, POSTS TOP-10 TIMES AT MARSHALL

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Radford Swimming and Diving put forth a strong effort with four first-place finishes, four seconds, a pair of diving personal bests and two top-3 program times as it fell at Marshall, 188-109 on Saturday morning at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium. Making her season debut, junor Skye Hickling posted a school record in the 1-meter board with a score of 264.07.

RESULTS
 
Junior Jessica Frazelle in the 100 backstroke, freshman Mary Flinn in the 200 back, freshman Sarah Fredericksen in the 100 fly and the 200 free relay squad churned out top times for the Highlanders.
 
Frazelle, who touched with a time of 1:01.12 in the 100 back, added a second in the 200 back (2:14.45), less than a second behind Flinn (2:13.74).
 
Fredericksen reeled off a 59.17 in the butterfly and also added a third in the 1650 freestyle (18:06.50), both the third fastest times on the program's top-10 list. Teammate Claire Doherty followed Fredericksen in the fly with a 1:01.05.
 
The meet was capped off by the team of Frazelle, Fredericksen, junior Meaghan Rowley and Flinn winning the relay by .66 seconds over Marshall top relay squad.
 
Radford's diving squad competed in their first meet of the season. Hickling and Alex Poletti (pictured) posted personal bests and finished second (264.07) and third (242.02), respectively, in the 1-meter board. Hickling also added a second in the 3-meter with 228.5 points.
 
Radford returns home for it annual three-day Highlander Invitational, held Nov. 15-17 at the Dedmon Center Natatorium.
