SWIMMING HOSTS THREE-DAY HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL: DIVERS COMPETE AT H2OKIE FALL INVITE



Radford swimming jumps back into the pool for its annual Highlander Invitational this weekend from Nov. 21-23. The Highlanders host UNC Asheville, Millersville, North Carolina A&T, Campbell and Mount St. Mary's in a three-day meet that begins at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday and concludes at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Thursday and Friday's time trials begin at 10:00 a.m. with the finals starting at 6:00 p.m. The meet concludes on Saturday with 9:00 a.m. trials and finals at 4:00 p.m.
 
On Thursday and Friday, the Highlander divers head over the Christiansburg Aquatic Center to compete in the H2Okie Fall Invitational. Seniors Skye Hickling and Alex Poletti, along with sophomore Kelsey Parshall will compete against divers from the host Hokies, Connecticut, Ohio and South Carolina.

A LOOK AT RU: Radford continues its mini home swing after hosting Marshall and Old Dominion on Nov. 15 & 16… The Highlanders were defeated by the Thundering Herd (134-228) and Monarchs (133.50-217.50)… Radford celebrated its senior day on Saturday, honoring Jessica Frazelle, Hickling, Poletti, Meaghan Rowley, Haley Schweitzer and Sydney Sweet… On day one, Poletti, Frazelle, Yvonne Smith and Sarah Fredericksen charted runner-up finishes with Frazelle and Smith posted season-best times in the 100 back (1:01.61) and 50 free (25.39), respectively… Day two saw the Highlanders generate five top-3 finishes… Hickling and Poletti went 2-3 on the 3-meter board… Fredericksen was edged in the 100 butterfly, earning her 10th top-2 finish of the season… Frazelle added another season-best with a 2:13.45 in the 200 back and was joined by classmates Schweitzer and Sweet, who earned season-bests in the 400 IM (4:53.96) and 200 breaststroke (2:46.02), respectively.

UP NEXT: The Highlanders will be off until the New Year when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla. on January 14 to face CCSA foe Florida Gulf Coast.
