WYATT WINS 110M HURDLES WHILE BREAKING THE RECORD AT WAKE FOREST INVITATIONAL

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –
Sophomore Vincent Wyatt had a career day after breaking the school-record twice today in the 110m hurdles at the Wake Forest Invitational. This is Wyatt's second record broken this year after shattering the 60m hurdles record during the indoor season.

Wyatt started the day by breaking the record at 14.00 seconds in the preliminaries. He then shattered that time while placing first in the finals with a time of 13.81 seconds, which is also a BIg South Conference record.

Senior Curtis Hodge finished second in the hammer throw with a personal-record toss of 58.83m while classmate Kaise White added a fourth place in the 400m dash with a time of 48.30 seconds.

Senior Justin Smith took seventh place in the shot put, earning his first top-10 after redshirting last spring, with a toss of 15.95m. Junior Garrett Knudson added a PR in the hammer throw with a distance of 42.28m.

On the women's side, sophomore Jamiecka Baker earned a fourth place finish in the triple jump after a personal-best distance of 11.78m. She also took fifth place in the high jump “B” section off a height of 1.53m. Freshman Ashlen Veatch threw a USA Junior National Championships-qualifying 52.03m mark in the women's hammer throw.


Junior Lakei Crews finished eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.34 while senior Maggie Wissler earned a top-10 finish in the 1500m run “B” section with a PR time of 4:51.87.

Sophomore Jazmine Banks took home a personal-record in the shot put after a throw of 12.55m while junior Kaleice Green had a PR of 12.78 seconds in the 100m dash.

Day two of the Wake Forest Invitational is set to begin tomorrow, March 16th, with the first event of the day kicking off at 9:30 a.m.
