RU TRACK & FIELD WRAPS UP FINAL DAY AT WAKE FOREST INVITATIONAL

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –
The Radford University track & field wrapped up the final day of events at the Wake Forest Invitational on Saturday. The Highlanders had two top-10 finishes and three personal-records on a day of less events and student-athletes competing than yesterday.

On the men's side, sophomore Joseph Betts brought home sixth place after running 21.57 seconds in the 200m dash.

Sophomore Chris Henry finished just outside the top-10 in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters while junior Justin Smith, who saw his first outdoor season action since the 2011 campaign after redshirting last spring, just missed a top-10 finish in the discus throw after a distance of 41.99m.

Junior David Green had a personal-record in the 400m hurdles off a time of 55.72 seconds.

On the women's side, the combination of senior Kayla Christian and juniors Amber Church, Lakei Crews and Kaleice Green had a top-10 finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 48.50 seconds.

Green added a personal-record after shattering her previous best distance in the long jump with a leap of 5.29m while finishing 11th. Sophomore Emmalane Hale had a personal-record toss in the discus throw of 37.01m.

Radford track & field returns to action on Saturday, March 23rd when the Highlanders travel to the University of Virginia Invitational.
