BAKER, WHITE & WYATT LEAD WAY ON FINAL DAY AT WINTHROP INVITATIONAL

ROCK HILL, S.C. –
The Radford University track and field team finished up the last day of the Winthrop Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore's Jamiecka Baker and Vincent Wyatt tallied victories along with senior Kaise White to lead the Highlanders.

White recorded a personal-record and the third fastest time in school-history on his way to first place in the 400m dash while Wyatt took the 110m hurdles after clocking the second fastest time in program-history at 13.84 seconds. Freshman Victor Brew took seventh in the 110m hurdles with a personal-record time of 15.12 seconds.

Junior Brian Gorwitz finished third in the 1500m run after a personal-record time of 3:56.35 while sophomore Ryan Farnan added a personal-record with a time of 4:06.10.

The combination of White, Wyatt, junior David Green and sophomore Joseph Betts added a fourth place finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.89 seconds. Betts added a seventh place finish in the 100m dash after clocking 10.80 seconds while Green also took seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.48 seconds. Sophomore Logan Shumaker had a personal-record time of 57.56 seconds in the 400m hurdles.

Sophomore Jake Zimmerman added a sixth place finish in the 800m run after a time of 1:57.86 while junior Chris Weeks finish ninth with a time of 2:01.59. Junior Josiah Brunson tied his personal-record in the pole vault with a height of 3.95m on his way to a tenth place finish.

On the women's side, Baker won the triple jump after a personal-record distance of 12.07m. That 12.07m was also the ninth best distance in program-history.

The team of juniors Amber Church, Lakei Crews and Keleice Green and senior Kayla Christian had the fourth fastest and personal-records time in the 4x100m relay after clocking 47.99 seconds, which was good for third place. Christian added a seventh place in the 200m dash with a time of 25.83 seconds while Church tallied a fourth place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.98 seconds. Crews also had a fifth place in the 100m dash after a time of 12.29 seconds.

Sophomore Teresa Williamson took fifth place in the 1500m run after a personal-record time of 4:49.51 while senior Maggie Wissler took seventh after clocking 4:53.67. Junior Katie Hickey had a top-10 in the 800m run with a personal-record time of 2:23.80.

Junior Michelle Speede clocked in at 59.04, which was good for sixth place in the 400m dash. Sophomore Emmalene Hale finished eighth in the discus throw after a toss of 38.20m while classmate Desi Simmons had a personal-record distance of 31.09m.

Radford returns to action on Friday and Saturday, April 5 – 6 as they will travel to the Pepsi Relays at the University of Florida and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational at Liberty University.
