WYATT BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD IN 110m HURDLES

RESULTS

RADFORD, Va. – Sophomore Vincent Wyatt had a historic day at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University Saturday. Wyatt earned a personal-record while breaking the Radford record in the 110m hurdles.

Wyatt ran 13.79 seconds in the preliminaries of the 110m hurdles to break both records. He did not run in the finals due to weather conditions.

“Rough conditions for a meet today but I was proud of how we performed,” said head coach Brent Chumbley. “Vincent continues to improve technically and had a good race. Joseph saw the worst weather conditions, but still ran a solid 200.”

Sophomore Joseph Betts added a time of 21.55 seconds in the 200m dash while taking home second place.

Senior Justin Smith took fifth in the shot put after a toss of 15.39m while junior Garrett Knudson finished sixth with a distance of 15.16m.

Sophomore Emmalane Hale finished fifth in the discus throw with a toss of 38.02m.

Sophomore Jamiecka Baker took sixth in the triple jump after a leap of 11.40m.

RU track and field returns to action on Friday and Saturday, May 10th – 11th as they travel to the Georgia Tech Invitational.
