FREDERICKSEN'S 100 FLY VICTORY HIGHLIGHTS DUAL AT GEORGIA SOUTHERN



RESULTS

STATESBORO, Ga. –
Radford swimming and diving wrapped up its annual mid-season training trip with a Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) dual at Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Sarah Fredericksen won the 100 butterfly and the Highlanders finished in the top 3 in six other events, but fell to the Eagles, 144-88 at the Aquatics Center.
 
Fredericksen topped the field for the seventh time this season, posting a 58.53 and edging GSU's Christina Moran by .26 seconds. Of the top 3 finishes, senior Skye Hickling recorded a pair of runner-up scores on the one (193.87) and three-meter (267.55) boards. Sophomore Mary Flinn added a second-place mark in the 500 free, touching the wall with a time of 5:27.87.
 
The 400 freestyle relay team consisting of senior Jessica Frazelle, Fredericksen, junior Claire Doherty and churned out a 3:50.96 for the fourth runner-up mark of the meet. Rounding out the top-3s was Frazelle in the 100 backstroke (1:02.05) and freshman Madeline Schouten in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.81).
 
The Highlanders return to Radford on Friday, Jan. 24 hosting CCSA foe North Carolina A&T at 5:00 p.m. in the Dedmon Center Natatorium.
