HIGHLANDERS CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON AT HOME ON SATURDAY



Radford swimming and diving will be competing in its final regular season meet of the season against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, February 1 at the Dedmon Center Natatorium. The dual against the Red Flash kicks off at 12:00 p.m. with the 200 medley relay and will feature a total of 14 swimming events.
 
This will be the final home meet for Radford's six seniors; Jessica Frazelle, Skye Hickling, Alex Poletti, Meaghan Rowley, Haley Schweitzer and Sydney Sweet.
 
A LOOK AT RU: The Highlanders defeated the Aggies of North Carolina A&T 165-35 in an impressive showing at a Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association dual last week… RU won all 11 events and swept the top three spots in six… Sophomore Mary Flinn earned victories in the 100 backstroke (1:03.38) and 200 individual medley (2:21.88)… Sophomore Sarah Fredericksen edged out the rest of the field in the 400 IM (4:47.00) and 100 butterfly (59.50)… Freshmen Laura Bradley and Lindsay Anderson each won their first collegiate races in the 200 and 500 freestyle, respectively… Along with the 200 medley and freestyle relay squads, sophomore Yvonne Smith (50 freestyle) and freshman Madeline Schouten (100 breaststroke) picked up victories.
 
A LOOK AHEAD: Following the final regular season matchup, the Highlanders look forward to the CCSA Championships which will take place Feb. 19-22 at the University of Tennessee.
