SETTING THE STAGE
- Radford brings its new logo into the match, along with a seven-game home winning streak against Big South foes.
- Winthrop enters the contest with a four-match skid, last playing on Oct. 4. The Eagles match with High Point was postponed due to weather from Hurricane Matthew.
- The Eagles hold a 16-15-4 advantage in the all-time series, while maintaining a 4-0-1 record in the last five meetings.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Record: 9-2-1, 3-0-0 Big South
- Radford earned a 1-1 draw against No. 21 Virginia in a Commonwealth clash, Tuesday night.
- In overtime matches this season, Radford is 2-0-1, playing back-to-back overtime matches for the first time since 2014.
- After the Highlanders and Cavaliers combined for three shots in the first half, it wasn't until the 82nd minute that a ball found net.
- Following Victor Valls getting fouled in the box, Kieran Roberts converted the penalty kick for his third goal on the season and second in a row. The Cavaliers would go on the knot the match four minutes later.
- With goals in the last two matches, Roberts now ranks second on the squad in goals scored (4) and third in points (6).
- Sivert Daehlie leads the Highlanders with four goals scored, including three as game winners, but has not tallied a goal since Sept. 21.
- Radford has only allowed more than one goal in two matches this season, ranking 28th in the country with a 0.73 goals against average.
SCOUTING WINTHROP
- Record: 3-7-1, 0-3-0 Big South
- Winthrop enters the match with their last win coming on Sept. 4 in a 1-0 decision at Wofford.
- The Eagles have been outscored 22-11, including a 12-4 mark in the first half.
- The 11 goals rank last in the Big South.
- Rasmus Arousell paces the Eagles with four goals and two assists for 10 points.
- Following Arousell, James Skonicki has totaled three goals and Francesco Tiozzo follows two goals for the only Eagles with more than one goal.
- Jogvan Jacobsen has a team-high three assists in nine matches.
- In 11 matches played, Winthrop is allowing 2.00 goals per match.
