SETTING THE STAGE
- Radford looks to earn a share of its third consecutive Big South Regular Season Championship.
- The two foes enter the matchup with a lot on the line. If Radford wins the match, they will be the outright regular season champion and will earn the top overall seed in the conference tournament. If UNC Asheville wins, the two teams share the regular season title and the Bulldogs will be the top seed in the tournament.
- The Highlanders have won the last four matchups against the Bulldogs, outscoring them 10-2.
- Radford owns a 33-11-4 record in the all-time series.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
- Record: 12-3-1, 6-1-0 Big South
- Radford is coming off a week in which they tallied two shutouts and scored four goals.
- The shutouts are the seventh and eighth by the Highlander defense this season. Radford needs only two shutouts to match the program's single-season record of 10 set in 1991.
- In 16 matches, Radford's defense has only allowed 10 goals, which ranks 11th in the country with a 0.61 goals against average.
- Four different Highlanders added goals on the week and 11 different players have tallied a goal this season. Of the 25 goals scored, eight Highlanders have two-plus goals. Kieran Roberts and Sivert Daehlie lead the way with four goals each.
- Radford's 3-0 win over Campbell on Oct. 29 were the most goals scored since a 3-1 win over James Madison on Sept. 21.
- Aitor Pouseu Blanco has 23 career shutouts, needing only one to match the Big South's all-time record.
- Pouseu Blanco ranks 11th nationally in save percentage (0.836) and 14th in goals against average (0.584).
SCOUTING UNC ASHEVILLE
- Record: 6-11-0, 5-2-0 Big South
- The Bulldogs are currently on a two-match winning streak, holding a 3-1 scoring edge.
- UNC Asheville is 4-2 at home this season, but only played two home matches during the month of October.
- Opponents have outscored the Bulldogs 43-20, including 20-5 in the first half.
- At Greenwood Field, UNC Asheville holds a 10-8 scoring advantage.
- Zach Joens leads the team with seven goals, ranking tied for fourth in the Big South.
- Bulldog goalkeepers are averaging 6.06 saves per match, but the UNC Asheville allows 18.8 shots per match.
- Chris Katt ranks fifth in the nation with 90 saves and sixth with 5.63 saves per game.
