MOSQUERA QUINTAS FINISHES IN TOP THREE, RADFORD MAINTAINS SIXTH

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman Beatriz Mosquera Quintas finished seven-over par and tied for third place as the Radford women's golf team maintained it's sixth place position through the final round of play at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Clarksville Country Club.

On a shotgun start, Mosquera Quintas started the day on the fifth hole and birdied three of the first four holes she played. She went on to finish the front nine two-under, but carded a four-over on the back nine. Nonetheless, the La Coruna, Spain native was still able to move up one spot with a two-over in round three and finish inside the top five of the 68-golfer field.

The third place finish was the highest for a Highlander since 2016 when Khushboo Thiagaraj finished the Bill Berg Invitational six-over and tied for third.

Another freshman, Natalie Welsh, carded a seven-over on the final day of play and finished the tournament in 30^th place. She tallied three birdies and seven pars in the third round. Right behind her was Sidney Walker in 31^st. The sophomore shot six-over in the final two rounds and moved up one spot on the closing day.

Riko Nagai posted a nine-over, which was her best score of any round, and jumped up six spots to 48^th. Hannah Tuttle took 58th to round out the scoring for the Highlanders and Kasidy Beckel tied for 55th as an individual.

The Highlanders will enjoy a two-week break before heading to Ninety-Six, S.C., to compete in the Blue Hose Match Play hosted by Presbyterian at the Patriot Golf Club. The tournament is set to begin on Monday, October 15^th.
