Final Results
KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Despite the sloppy conditions, Radford's cross country squads turned in solid efforts at the 2018 Big South Championships, which were held at Ivey M. Redmon Sport Complex on Friday morning. Both teams finished sixth in the field of 11.
In his championship debut, freshman
Joe Limo impressed with a time of 27:16 to lead the men's squad with a 16th-place finish. Sophomore
Juan Cisneros, who was also named to the
Big South All Academic Team, was right behind him in 21st thanks to a time of 27:40.
Junior
Mak Casey (22
nd, 27:44), classmate
Ashenafi Kidanu (33
rd, 28:03) and sophomore
Pete Decker (40
th, 28:25) completed the scoring for the Highlanders.
Senior
Joe Spriggs (68, 31:01) also competed on the 8k course.
On the women's side, it was freshman
Kayland Bond leading the way through the 5k trail for Radford. he Vinton, Virginia native finished 25th overall with a time of 19:58.9.
Senior
Percie Lyons finished second for the Highlanders. The Kailua, Hawaii native posted a time of 20:07 to place 29th in a large field of 82 runners. Lyons was also named to the
Big South All Academic Team after the event

"i thought the men were very solid today," said head coach
Sam Bradley. "We came together as a team and I thought they handled the tough conditions very well. I'm very proud of them. The women also ran very well across the board. I was very impressed with how we came out and competed on race day."
