THIAGARAJ EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT ON FINAL DAY OF BIG SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

NINETY SIX, S.C. – Three seniors played their last tournament in Radford gear and one of those was Khushboo Thiagaraj, who was named to the All-Tournament Team with a fifth place finish on Saturday, the final day of the Big South Championship.

KEY STORYLINES

Khushboo Thiagaraj is the first player since 2015 to finish inside the top five at a Big South Championship, when Larissa Carter finished third.
She shot two-over (74) with a one-under on the back nine and finished the three rounds with a 222.
She finishes her Radford career earning a spot on the Big South All-Tournament Team after just missing it last year.
Meagan Board moved up four spots shooting a six-over (78) in the final round.
Sidney Walker fell a few spots on the leaderboard with a nine-over (81).
The Highlanders finished with a 945 aggregate score in the Big South Championship.
Kasidy Beckel was named to the Big South All-Academic Team for the second straight season.
No. 1 seed Campbell carded a six-over 294 on Saturday to finish with a team-aggregate 13-over par 877 and won the 2018 Big South Women's Golf Championship.
The Camels won by 37 strokes -- the third-largest margin of victory in championship history, and Campbell's Isabell Ekstrom captured Medalist honors as the only player to finish the 54-hole event under par at three-under 213.

"Coming into the Big South Championship we really didn't know what to expect due to our lack of outdoor reps in preparation, but all things considered I was very pleased with how we hit the ball. We also executed our game plan and approach. We got off to an incredible start today and were only eight-over after 10 holes and really moved up the leaderboard. We had a fourth place finish right in our sites but really just fell off and had a lot of three putts coming down the stretch today. Khushboo just missed out on the all-tournament team last year and was a little disappointed. Today she was fantastic for most of the round and only finished a few strokes from being the runner-up. Her and this whole senior class will be missed. Several things that come to mind about this class, such as the third place finish in the conference championship when Khushboo was a member of the All-Freshman Team. She set a Radford Big South Championship record with her three day total last year, and this year she capped off her career earning her a spot on the All-Conference team with a top five finish at the Big South Championship. Morgan and Meagan came to Radford barely recruited and ended up providing tremendous contributions throughout their entire career.
