BRETT OLINGER NAMED TO BIG SOUTH ALL-DECADE TEAM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that Brett Olinger was selected to the Hercules Tires All-Decade team. Olinger was a vital part to the men's track and field team in the early half of the decade and is one of the program's most decorated hurdles and relay team member.

Over his career between 2009 and 2012 as a Highlander in outdoor competition, Olinger was a force in the 400-meter hurdles event and currently holds the school record with a time of 52.33 which he set at the 2011 Big South Championships. He was also a vital part of multiple relay teams for Radford during this time, being a part of the 2009 4x100-meter relay team that set the second-fastest time in program history. That same team also holds the school record for the 4x400-meter relay team which was set at the 2009 NCAA Southeast Regionals. Off the track Olinger was a two-time All-Academic award winner as well as being named to multiple CoSIDA academic teams and a USTFCCCA all-academic award in 2011.

A 15-person committee of Big South Conference administrators served as the official voting panel to determine the All-Decade Team, with fan voting comprising 20 percent of the overall total. The 2010-19 Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Decade Team is listed below in alphabetical order by event and features eight sprinters/hurdlers, eight distance/mid-distance runners, eight jumpers, eight throwers, two decathletes and one head coach. In case of ties, additional honorees have been added.
