Abrams Named Big South Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After a thrilling individual victory in the Radford women's tennis program's season opener, Julia Abrams has been announced as the first Big South Player of the Week for the 2024 season.

Julia Abrams had the highlight of the opening match in her incredible comeback victory on the top singles flight. After dropping the first set, Abrams won back-to-back tiebreakers for the big win 4-6, 7-6(9), 1-0(9). In doubles play Abrams teamed up with Lexi Smolder for another tight contest that required a tiebreaker. Points were traded back and forth, but the Hokies would take the top doubles court 7-6(2).

Abrams and the Highlanders will next be in action when they travel to face Marshall next week on January 27th.
