Abrams Continues to Cruise as Women’s Tennis Falls Against Cleveland State

BOX SCORE MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Radford women's tennis program fell to Cleveland State Sunday morning 5-2 with Julia Abrams picking up her second win of the weekend on court one.

In doubles play Cleveland State struck for the first point of the match with wins on courts one and two. Lexi Smolder and Emily Brandow were up 4-3 before going unfinished on court three.

In singles, Abrams highlighted once again as she picked up her second straight singles win on the top flight this time in three sets 6-1, 1-6, 7-5. Brooke Murphy also won by retirement on court singles to give Radford its second point of the match. Cleveland State won courts two, three, four and five for the 5-2 final.

The Highlanders return to the home courts for the first time this season for their next match. On Wednesday, February 14th, Radford hosts Bluefield State for a 1 p.m. first serve.
