Magson’s Program Record Highlights Cross Country Season Opener at Liberty Invite

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Radford men's and women's cross country programs began their 2025 seasons Friday afternoon and were highlighted by Sophie Magson breaking the program 4k record.

Outpacing the next closest racer by over 30 seconds, Magson made an incredible debut to her 2025 campaign by shattering her own personal record and surpassing the program record for the 4k with her time of 14:08.4. Kaley Tanner also made her Highlander debut for the women's cross country program.

On the men's side of competition, Liam McDonald, Logan Hamilton and Alex Dickinson all made their season debuts as well.

Radford's next meet comes in the New River Valley as the team competes in the Virginia Tech Invite this upcoming Friday, September 5th. Action is slated to begin at 6 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
