Four Highlanders Named to Big South Women’s Soccer Midseason Watch List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Thursday afternoon that four Highlanders including Paige Olson, Lilly Short, Ary Oliver, Jillian Silverstone had all been named to the conference's midseason watch list.

Through seven matches this season, Olson has helped guide the Highlanders' offense with a team-high three goals and seven points. Olson struck for her first career brace in a win against Shepherd and helped Radford earn a win over Morehead State. The senior forward has logged 553 minutes played with 11 of her 17 shots coming on goal.

The reigning preseason midfielder of the year for the conference, Short has lived up to that honor so far scoring a pair of goals and assists through seven matches. After scoring goals against Emory & Henry and Campbell, Short recorded back-to-back matches with assists against Shepherd and Morehead State.

Oliver also earns midfielder midseason watch list honors in her debut season at the collegiate level. She netted her first career goal against Shepherd and followed with her first career assist to help in a late win over Morehead State. The freshman has appeared and started in all seven matches playing the full 90 in three of those seven starts.

Rounding out the Highlanders' watch list honors was Silverstone who captained the Highlanders backline this season. Starting in all seven matches, the senior has played the full 90 in all but one of those matches. She helped Radford post a shutout over Emory & Henry while also bolstering the team's defense in wins over Shepherd and Morehead State with a tie at Richmond.
