FINAL RESULTS
EMMITTSBURG, Md. – The Radford swimming & diving team rallied past Mount St. Mary's, 105-100, as they ended with Top-3 finishes in every event on Saturday afternoon.
“As a coaching staff, we are very proud of our girls today,” commented head coach
Randy Jarman. “They really stepped it up and showed us what they are made of.”
The exciting meet came down to the 100-yard breaststroke where freshman
Haley Schweitzer touched the wall first with a time of 1:21.70, followed by
Julia Hoffman at 1:24.79.
Senior
Kaitlyn Baker placed fourth with a time of 1:28.30 to give Radford 15 overall points and put them in the lead.
In addition to her first-place finish, Schweitzer recorded a time of 1:10.33, as she took second in the 100-yard butterfly.
Emily Turner continues to finish strong as she touched the wall first in the 200-yard IM and second in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 2:33.45 and 1:01.89, respectively.
Dixie Mitchell also recorded a first-place showing in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.18, while finishing third in the 1:15.89 in the 100-yard backstroke.
Freshman
Jessica Frazelle tallied a pair of second-place showings in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard freestyle with the times of 1:08.32 and 2:14.67, respectively.
Megan Rowley also recorded a pair of second-place performances with a time of 2:22.66 in the 200-yard freestyle and 4:48.97 in the 400-yard freestyle.
The Highlanders will enjoy their Christmas break and return to the pool on Jan. 7 for a two-meet road swing at North Florida and Florida Gulf Coast.
